We are nominated for the
Houskapreis 2025
We are pleased to announce that Insort has been nominated for the prestigious Houskapreis 2025 in the category “Research & Development in SMEs”
New and developing nut markets, with variable raw material product and lower access to good technology, can benefit in many ways from Insort’s processing technology. Darren Murphy’s 15-years’ experience in the global nut market has prepared him well to help new customers retain higher yields and save money.

The Houskapreis, awarded by the B&C Private Foundation, is Austria’s largest private research award, with total funding of €760,000. Since its inception in 2005, the award has recognized outstanding application-oriented research that drives economic progress and strengthens Austria’s position as an innovation hub.
The award is presented in three categories:
- University Research
- Non-University Research
- Research & Development in SMEs
In each category, a grand prize of €150,000 is awarded. The second-place winners receive €60,000, and third-place winners are awarded €20,000. All other nominees receive €10,000 in recognition of their achievements. Additionally, the Mariella-Schurz-Prize, worth €10,000, is awarded by a student jury from HTL Braunau.
Our nomination is based on the project “CIT – Food Sorting in Real-Time Using Chemical Imaging”, showcasing our pioneering CIT® technology, which is setting new standards in food safety and quality assurance.
With Chemical Imaging Technology (CIT®), Insort enables:
- Real-time analysis of the chemical composition of food
- Highest product safety by detecting contaminants and quality defects
- Reduction of food waste through precise and efficient sorting
Since 2005, the B&C Private Foundation has awarded over €7 million in prize money to promote innovation in Austria. The Houskapreis 2025 winners will be announced at a formal ceremony in Vienna on April 9, 2025.
