Insort GmbH is a young and dynamic company, founded in 2011 by parent companies Infruits AG and EVK DK Kerschaggl GmbH. Before setting up the company, the parent companies pursued intensive development projects over several years on sensor‑based sorting and monitoring of foodstuffs. The resulting technology, based on near infrared spectroscopy, allows the chemical composition of foodstuffs to be differentiated atindustrial speed and object‑related sorting processes to be implemented. This innovative food sector technology functions without reference to the size, shape, color, surface or density of the objects being examined. The only relevant factor is chemical composition and this opens up hitherto unimaginable ways of dealing with quality assurance and process control issues in the food industry.

Insort GmbH's principal activity is the development, planning and construction of sorting systems for a wide range of contexts (potatoes, peas, nuts, berries etc.) across the whole of the food industry. Individual components are manufactured and systems assembled largely on the premises of external partners, on the basis of our specifications.
